can you imagine actually seeing tera melos or marnie stern or battles or girlfriends because i really can’t even begin to

Melos and Marnie toured together like last year and I didn’t go and still haven’t forgiven myself.

saw marnie stern with melos in april, saw melt-banana with melos in october, and fugue was also at both shows (the second was fugues last show ever!)

honestly the difference in audience between marnie stern and melt-banana was gigantic. the crowd at the marnie show seemed way less enthusiastic (barring these two guys who broke out moshing during skywatch and promptly stopped when they realized nobody else was that into it, and were later screaming “FUCK YEAH, TERA MELOS!!!!”) and the people kinda all looked similar (flannel, beanies, scruff).

the show with melt-banana on the other hand had a pretty rowdy (in the good way) crowd with plenty more moving around during tera melos’ set, and probably some of the more intense moshing I’ve seen at a show. the crowd was extremely diverse. we’re talking everything from a guy who looked like 50 and had dreds and a foot long beard, to a tiny black dude with a bleached blond mohawk who had no shirt on so I could see his (pretty fucking metal) back tattoo which looked a little like this , except stretched vertically and more resembling real bone, and a very tall person decked out in goth attire who I am pretty sure was transgender!

safe to say, it was really diverse, and a lot more fun. also it didn’t hurt that the stage was closer to the floor and the place served really good chicken parms. anyway, my point is that, yeah I like marnie stern, but I probably won’t go out of my way to see her live again, considering it seems like her crowd is pretty boring.

and yeah I’d like to see battles live too but I seem to recall their tickets being expensive and that they actually end up selling out shows so
